# Message on the National Day of Struggle against Global Arrogance

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Today is the National Day of Struggle against Global Arrogance, a day that brings together a series of turning points in the alignment of the front of truth against the front of falsehood, and of the front of the oppressed against the front of the oppressor. It may be said that on this year’s 13 Aban, the Iranian nation knows where it stands with criminal America more clearly and transparently than in any other year; yet reviewing the roots, the causes and the turning points of America’s ever-growing hostility, and of the Iranian nation’s firm stand against it, lights the way for the future of this path.

The starting point of America’s oppression of the Iranian nation goes back more than seven decades, to when it staged the 28 Mordad (19 August 1953) coup in order to perpetuate the plunder of the nation’s resources and national wealth, especially its oil. The following decades, up to the victory of the Islamic Revolution, were likewise a period in which the rulers of America made strenuous efforts to loot the assets of the Iranian nation. Along this path, by establishing SAVAK and imposing an oppressive security atmosphere on society, they gave the tyrannical government of that time a freer hand to crush any protest movement. On the eve of the glorious victory of the Islamic Revolution, too, they resorted to all manner of ploys to preserve their puppet regime. As for their hostile conduct in the period after the victory of the great revolution of the Iranian nation, a long list of their actions against the people can be drawn up, including: support for separatist groups, for coup plotters and for the blind-hearted Hypocrites, who, in addition to members of the scientific, political and social elite, ruthlessly martyred a great many ordinary people; direct and all-out support for the Baath Party in the first Imposed War; the killing of the civilians aboard the passenger airliner; extensive, prolonged and crippling economic sanctions; the planning and backing of numerous riots and seditions, and even arming them; the assassination of General Soleimani, the national hero of Iran and of the Islamic Ummah; the theft of the property and assets of the Iranian nation in various countries; and finally, direct military aggression in the second and third Imposed Wars and the martyrdom of a large number of the elite, scientists and commanders, and of a great multitude of the oppressed people of Iran, from newborns and young children to the elderly, and, at the head of them all, the exalted Leader of the Islamic Revolution (may God sanctify his pure soul).

Throughout all these stages, the arrogant ringleaders of America and their henchmen have always sought to impose their domination and to force Iran into surrender; and in the latest versions of this bullying they have even cast aside all the false and deceptive international niceties and appearances and are brazenly seeking the partition of the country, the bringing of the nation to its knees, the collapse of the system, and the destruction of Iran’s authentic and ancient civilization. And of course, at every stage they have run up against the solid wall of the reality on the ground and the unshakable rock of the will of the valiant Iranian nation, and have placed the outcome of their miscalculations and arrogant delusions, as a basket of heavy costs, on the shoulders of the American people and of the puppet governments of the US government.

Now the story of America’s long-standing enmity toward the Muslim nation of Iran, and of the valiant resistance of all Iranians against this enemy, has reached a point where not only 13 Aban but every day and every hour has become a time of standing firm and struggling against the Great Satan. Today the arena of the Persian Gulf, and especially the Strait of Hormuz, even as it has exposed the falsity of the myth of American invincibility, also reveals the weakness and abjectness of governments that rely on any force other than their own nations, and the faithlessness and impotence of the great powers in defending their puppet governments. Iran’s exercise of management over the Strait of Hormuz and the destruction of US military bases in the countries of the region, although a response to America’s aggression and crimes in the third Imposed War, is at the same time also to be regarded as a primary jihad against arrogance on a regional scale, one that, should the transgressions be repeated, will take on far wider dimensions. This sign of strength, together with the unity of the arenas of the front of truth and the intelligent and powerful epic feats of the Resistance Front, from Palestine and Lebanon to Iraq and Yemen, is a bright and hope-inspiring dawn of the raising high of the banner of the front of truth and of the paving of the way for a new world order; for whenever the front of truth possesses trust in God, steadfastness and self-sacrifice, the front of falsehood, whatever its power and strength and whoever and whatever it may be, will not be able to withstand it, and retreat and rout are its certain fate, for اِن‌َّ الباطلَ کانَ زَهوقا (“Indeed, falsehood is ever bound to perish.”) (Quran 17:81).

Praise be to God, the Iranian nation has thoroughly learned great lessons from the teachings of pure Muhammadan Islam (may God’s blessings and peace be upon him and his household), from the precepts of the Islamic Revolution and from the school of its wise leaders, the Great Khomeini and the martyred Khamenei (may God elevate their noble station), and day by day, as the divine promises are fulfilled, its faith in the rightfulness of this path has grown deeper. Today, as a result of the self-inflicted disgrace of the arrogant powers, America’s waning power and domination, in both dimensions of hard military power and international soft power, has suffered an irreversible fall, and the process of its collapse has accelerated.

If there are still those who cling to the slightest hope of a change in behavior, or of partisan and factional reshuffles within the system of domination, or who imagine that by making concessions to America they can dissuade it from its enmity toward the Iranian nation, they are gravely mistaken. This false notion is ingratitude toward the tremendous victories that the Muslim nation of Iran has won through trust in God, steadfastness and striving. The Great Satan’s wish is the unconditional surrender of the Iranian nation, and the slightest inclination toward capitulation to the domineering enemy will squander the immense capital that has been gained through the blessing of the martyrs’ blood and the self-sacrifice of every member of the nation, and will embolden the arrogant enemy toward still greater excessive demands and toward further wars and acts of audacity.

The only way to reach the point of absolute deterrence is to continue the strategy of “An Ever-Stronger Iran” on the path of all-round progress; and solidarity, unity and social cohesion are the principal element of success on this path, and they must govern every individual and collective word and deed of the nation and of officials. In this regard, just as the nation’s support for officials is necessary, it is also important that officials sustain and heighten their attention to redoubled, jihadi service, to sincere closeness with the people, and to securing their livelihood and well-being, their material and spiritual growth, and the preservation of their dignity and independence.

The vanguard in building the bright and glorious future of beloved Iran are our young people, our university students and our school students, who must continually strive to capture and demolish the dark den of “despair, hopelessness and ‘it can’t be done’” and to conquer the bright house of “hope and ‘we can.’” This mission requires extraordinary training and being equipped with every kind of weapon: knowledge and piety, skill and ethics, will and extraordinary effort, as well as a “shared covenant” for attaining lofty goals.

It is hoped that, by divine grace and the prayers of our Master (may God the Exalted hasten his noble reappearance), the Iranian nation will experience victory, felicity and all-round progress as soon as possible, and that the means will be provided for the ever greater and swifter decline of the Great Satan’s domination. اِنّهم یَرونَهُ بعیداً و نَراهُ قریباً (“Indeed, they see it as far off, and We see it as near.”) (Quran 70:6–7).
