Some time ago, on Shahrivar 23, 1405, Alireza Bakhshi Iraj, a ten-year-old student living in Tehran, wrote a heartfelt letter to the esteemed Leader of the Revolution. In the letter, while expressing his affection and his gratitude for the Leader’s guidance, he also offered a gift as a token of thanks to him and as help for the combatants of Islam.

The student’s letter read as follows:

In the name of God
Hello, Sir.
I’m Alireza Bakhshi.
I’m ten years old and I live in Tehran.
To be honest, I don’t know if my letter will reach you or not.
I really wish I could talk to you in person.
Honestly, we owe you a lot for all your guidance.
This money is to say thank you to you and to help the fighters of Islam.
Hoping to meet you
Alireza Bakhshi Iraj
1405/6/23

P.S. Happy belated birthday.

The letter reached the esteemed Leader of the Revolution, and Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Khamenei, in response to the student’s expression of affection, wrote him a letter and in turn presented him with a gift.

The text of the Leader of the Revolution’s reply is as follows:

بسم‌الله‌الرحمن‌الرحیم
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

My dear friend, Mr. Alireza Bakhshi,

سلام علیکم و رحمة الله و برکاته
Peace be upon you, and the mercy of God and His blessings

Thank you for your kind and affectionate thoughtfulness. My humble birthday, though, is actually in the month of Esfand. In return, I too am sending you a gift, however modest, in response to your generosity. Please convey my greetings to the members of your family.

Sayyid Mojtaba Khamenei
