باسمه‌تعالی
In His Exalted Name

Greetings to my dear children:

I have read your affectionate letters. I am grateful for the abundant kindness shown by you, young and highly motivated students, and I will offer special prayers for all of you who have placed me in your debt.

In your letters, and in those of the many young people and students who honor this humble servant with their kindness and affection, resolve, determination and a sense of responsibility for building the future shine through. This firm pledge is a precious trust, rooted in the school of pure Muhammadan Islam (may God’s blessings and peace be upon him and his household) and in the legacy of the Great Khomeini and the martyred Khamenei (may God elevate their noble station), and it is the thread that binds us to one another in a “shared covenant.”

To this end, equip yourselves as fully as you can with the weapons of knowledge and faith, self-purification and intimacy with God, and a deep familiarity with the teachings of the Quran and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them); and through redoubled work and initiative, add to the strength and might of beloved Iran, so that, through the prayers of our kind Master (may God the Exalted hasten his noble reappearance), the advance of the ranks bound by the same covenant toward the summits of progress and Islamic-Iranian civilization may be achieved ever better and ever faster, God willing.
